First of all, I am the only candidate that can call Ontario my hometown. I was born and raised here and graduated from Ontario High School in 1967. I have resided here most of my life. I retired as a professional pilot after 36 years in 2003. My two children also graduated from Ontario as did my father before me. My wife, Mary Ann is the Associate Director of Finance at Dayspring for Richland County. Our daughter, Nicole and our granddaughter, Sierra, live locally. Sierra is a 4^th grader at Stingel Elementary. Our son, Scott is in his 15^th year in the United States Air Force. His wife, Kristin and our grandsons, CJ and Braedon reside in Goldsboro, NC.

I was Ontario’s 4^th Ward City Councilman from 2001-2003. I was elected President Pro-Tem of Council by my peers for 2 Years. I was re-elected to Council in November of 2003, I resigned from that position in December of 2003 and was appointed as Ontario’s Service/Safety Director in 2003 and held that position until 2006. I am a former member of the Ontario City Planning Commission and The Richland County Regional Planning Commission. I was elected to the Ontario City Charter Commission in November of 2008 and served on that commission in 2009.

As the Service/Safety Director, I was the Chief Operating Officer of the City. I was the administrative head of the police department as well as being responsible for all other city services such as streets, water, sewer and parks departments.  Other responsibilities include hiring of employees in the police department and service departments through the Civil Service Commission in addition to being the contractual authority for the city.

I have experience in the legislative authority and over 2 years as a full time    administrator. I am the only candidate that has both. I know how the city operates from the bottom up. I truly believe my experience qualifies me for the position of Mayor. It would an honor for me to serve all the citizens as Mayor of Ontario, my hometown.
