For Perry Township Trustee

Hello Fellow Perry Township Constituent.

My Name is Matt Quinn and I will be running for the office of Perry Township Trustee.

I have been asked, “What does a Trustee do”?  The office is mostly dealing with our Township Roads and Structures.  Managing your tax dollars and dealing with Contractors who perform work on our roads, and talking to my fellow constituents  With the township being zoned we run into other issues dealing with individuals while looking out for the peoples interests.

I would like to tell you a little about myself.  

I’ve been in this township since 1982 when my wife and I built our house at 2806 Woodbury Rd. My wife’s name is Linda (Langer) Quinn.  She’s lived in this township for about the last 45 years. We have two children Adam age 20 and Gabrielle age 15.  Adam Graduated from Northmor High School and is a Graduate from Owens Technical College with a degree in Diesel Mechanics, and Gabrielle is in the 10^th Grade.

Background:

  I am a member of Richland County Builder Industry Association (BIA) and have been for the past 15 years.  I am a member of the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce for the past 6 years.

  I spent 10 years working for Crawford County Highway Department.   In that job we performed all types of road work, from mowing, to installing box culverts, bridges, pipes etc.  I worked for the County Engineer and we did most all of our own road construction in house. I left the county as a Foreman.  Today a lot of the work we use to perform, is bid and let to outside contractors.  A lot of the money to perform these projects is subsidized with State and Federal money, which intern saves the County local tax dollars.  With the economy today I believe my knowledge will help save the Township Money

  After quitting the County I became self employed and performed some contracts for the County and other Municipalities, Corporations and private individuals.  I have 30 years experience in the Construction Industry, in which time I have had to deal with Contractual Agreements, Public Entities, and Private Corporations. I have had a Class A CDL for 30 years. I plowed snow in the Blizzard of 1978 and currently plow for Corporations and private individuals. I currently own trucks, and some smaller equipment., and have performed some local projects.  I have owned and operated all types of Construction equipment such as Cranes, Earthmovers, Dozers, Excavators and others. This experience has given me the opportunity to see things from both sides of the political position.  Both as a Constituent seeing my tax dollars spent and as a Public Servant spending your tax dollars.

I feel my experience could be put to use as your Township Trustee. 

I’m asking for your vote on Nov. 3, 2009.

The Voting will take place at Country Meadows Care Center and newer concrete drive in the front of the facility was a project of mine 3 years ago.
