Full-time employment – Finnegan Construction,
25 years in construction business

My background in the construction and farming businesses coupled with the fact I have lived my entire life in Shelby are all experiences that will benefit the residents of Jackson Township.  Having been in the construction business in this area for 25 years has given me the experience to understand the mechanics and engineering required to assist in running the township efficiently. Some tasks I have been responsible for in my duties in the construction business include installment of culverts, tile and catch basins. I also have a CDL and am skilled at operating equipment such as a backhoe, dozer and excavators.  My CDL has led to experience in hauling heavy equipment and operating tandem-axle dump trucks.

My father and brother have also been township trustees for many years.  Growing up surrounded by the workings of a township has made me realize the many hours required of the township trustees year-round.  My goals as township trustee are to see that all jobs and tasks are performed and completed in a timely and efficient manner; to keep an open ear and open mind to all the township residents’ concerns and issues; and to consider all avenues and possibilities for solutions to these concerns and issues.  My decisions will be based on the most cost-effective and long-term, quality solutions obtainable by the township.  The trustees of the township must work together and work with the public in order to run the township efficiently and effectively.
