The Madison Township Fire Department held a pancake breakfast with the help of ReVision Laser Eye Center as a fundraiser to go towards the department's annual "adopt a family" event. When adopting a family, the fire department donates food, clothes, and other items to families to help their holidays get a little merrier.

ReVision Laser Eye Center participated in this year's fundraiser by donating to the fire department. The Eye Center donates to a different community member annually, and this year the donation went to the Madison Fire Department.

On top of the fire department's "Adopt a Family" event, donations will also go towards the upkeep of the department itself.

"I think people are aware of the fact that if a house is on fire, a fire truck's gonna show up. But what people don't think about is what goes on behind the scenes," said David Kissel, Madison Fire Chief. "All the things that we do behind the scenes - like CPR classes - that's how we fund all this stuff. It comes from all the donations we take in here."

Kissel's favorite part of the event is interacting with community members.

"There are some people here I don't get to see more than once a year," Kissel chuckled. "I really enjoy the people. I appreciate them being here. It's like a mingling thing."
