The more information you can learn about something, the less you have to be afraid of. That's the point awarding-winning author Conrad Storad stressed to kindergartners at Western Elementary School in Lexington. Storad is the author of forty-eight science and nature books for children and young adults. A native of Barberton, Ohio, Storad now lives in Arizona where the animals in that region are the inspiration for his books. Western Elementary Kindergarten Teacher Margaret Martin says the school librarian read three of Storad's books to the students so they would have a better understanding of how he writes. Storad has visited more than 1,370 schools in 17 states in the past 20 years, talking to more than 965,000 children with a goal of reading to 1-million students.
