During the annual flag-planting activity in the Mansfield City Cemetery, more thanr 100 people gathered to dedicate a new flagpole to 52 soldiers who were forgotten in their final resting place.

Through the efforts of a local Boy Scout troop, these 52 soldiers were honored by the dedication of the cemetery's newest flagpole, which has a plaque bearing the names of each of the 52 soldiers.

"This was a resurrection. This  was a bringing-back. A phoenix, so-to-speak," said Doug Theaker, member of the Korean War Veterans Association and guest speaker for the dedication ceremony. "It renews my faith, it renews my hope, in this country called America."

Other members who participated in the dedication were bugler Jacob Randall of Boy Scout Troop 121 and Eagle Scout Isaiah Corso-Phinney, who was part of the Color Guard.

After the dedication ceremony, more than 6,000 flags were planted throughout the cemetery for each soldier.
