The paint was still drying at the Carpenters Union on Poplar street Wednesday afternoon. They've been painting and refurbishing eighteen of the houses used in Safety Town, a free program designed to teach various areas of traffic safety to pre-kindergarten children here in Mansfield.

Thanks to the generosity of local donors and organizations, the houses were able to be painted, receive new roofs and more. The City of Mansfield building, Firefighters Local 266 and Kiwanis Club are just a few of the buildings represented in Safety Town.

All sessions for Safety Town will be held at Brinkerhoff School from 9am til noon. Sessions are held for ten days and are divided out by the Mansfield City elementary school your child will attend in the fall.

The program now includes bike safety, stranger safety, drug awareness, outdoor safety and a variety of topics designed to benefit our local children for a lifetime.
