Details involving the indictment of man accused of killing an 80-year-old Mount Vernon woman have been released.

Tyrone A. Caldwell, 34, was indicted last week on seven counts including aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, kidnapping and attempted murder. Caldwell is accused of stabbing Marilyn Eversole more than 30 times inside her apartment in Hiawatha Village at 978 Beech Street on April 8.

The investigation revealed that the knife used to kill Eversole belonged to her. Caldwell also attacked Eversole's home health-care aide, Anita Spencer.

Authorities say Caldwell broke into Eversole's apartment and was confronted by the victim. Spencer arrived at the apartment and found Eversole on the floor. Spencer was attacked by Caldwell and was found by police on the bathroom floor.

Caldwell is scheduled to be arraigned on June 16. He remains in the Knox County Jail on a $1-million bond.
