The cancer care unit at Ohio Health Med-Central Shelby Hospital has a new way for survivors to celebrate the completion of chemotherapy. A bell, donated in the name of Shelby resident Joanne Chase who died of cancer earlier this year, and paid for with memorial contributions, was unveiled Thursday afternoon.

The first to ring it was 55-year-old Terri Dray of Shelby, who battled and beat cancer. Joanne Chase's daughter was on hand to help celebrate the new bell.

The hospital staff showered Terri Dray with gifts, including a fishing pole and pink tackle box, along with a pink-frosted cake. Pink is the color of breast cancer awareness.
