Mansfield teen killed in two-vehicle accident

A two-vehicle accident has claimed the life of a Mansfield teen.

Tyrell Curry, 18, was killed and three other teens were injured in the crash Sunday afternoon in Clermont County.

According the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle accident occurred at about 11:50 a.m. Sunday on Ohio 774 near milepost 2 in Franklin Township.

The patrol says Sean Friedman, 16, of Amelia, was traveling eastbound on Ohio 774 when his 2003 Honda Civic went left of center and struck a 2004 Dodge Ram truck, driven by Doug Utter, 16, of Felicity. 

The civic went off the road and slammed into a tree before coming to a stop in a field. Curry was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle. Curry was pronounced dead at the scene.

Friedman and another passenger in the civic, Anthony Cupp, 14, were taken to Cincinnati Children's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both teens were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Utter, the driver of the truck was treated at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

A fundraiser for the family of Tyrell Curry will be held Tuesday at Bucks Bar and Grill, 192 E. Main St. in Lexington. The event will take place from 6-8 p.m. and is open to the public.

A silent auction will be held and donations will be accepted to help the family.
