Ashland University offers its first-ever Young Chef Camp, and gets an overwhelming response, filling the class with 25 students aged 10 to 18. The two-day camp covers all aspects of food preparation, starting with cleanliness and safety, then to cooking techniques. Some of the students just want to learn how to cook, while others will pursue careers as professional chefs. When the chef camp concludes, awards will be presented for Best Sanitarian and Outstanding Chef. The students will also prepare and serve a dinner of multiple dishes for their parents and families. This is likely to become an annual event, and Ashland University may offer cooking classes to adults as well.
