The big blue waste water storage tank at the corner of Park Avenue West and Rock Road in Ontario has been tested several times with heavy rainfalls this spring. The 1.2-million gallon tank was built for $1.7-million, as mandated by the Ohio E-P-A, to handle raw sewage overflowing from the lift station across the street. Mayor Randy Hutchinson says the tank has gotten as much as half full, and works as it was intended. The overflow had caused sewage to get into a nearby creek, which flooded the house at 31 Rock Road. The house became so moldy, the residents had to abandon it and move elsewhere. No decision has been made on what will become of the house.
