With fourth of July weekend right around the corner, several Americans are loading up on fireworks for entertainment. In the Mansfield, OH area, residents are stocking up at Phantom Fireworks off of Koogle Road, on this seasons hottest items for the holiday weekend.

Melissa Baer, manager at Phantom Fireworks, says that everything in the store is subject to special offers through June 30, and people are taking full advantage. One customer Tuesday afternoon racked up a $1,200 bill while WMFD was on location, and Melissa guesstimates the average customer spends more than $500 on products.

She says that customers are encouraged to buy more items because "the more you spend the more free stuff you get."

Customers that do purchase products at Phantom Fireworks must first sign an affidavit agreeing to transport them out of state within 48 hours of purchase because the state of Ohio has some of the most restrictive fireworks laws in the country. A pair of police officers are even assigned to patrol the premises for a variety of purposes.

This hasn't slowed down the foot traffic through the business however, as Melissa says this is easily their busiest time of year.

Phantom Fireworks are currently open from 8:30 a.m. to midnight and will open at 8 a.m. on July 4.

They are located at 2834 Crider Rd in Mansfield and can be contacted at (419) 589-2264.
