Come meet Jungle Terry and his safari animals at the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library in this fun and educational program. See and learn all about a wide array of animals from around the world – what they eat, how they defend themselves, where they live and more!

The following is the schedule:

Monday, July 7 – Crestview Branch – 11:30 a.m.

                     – Plymouth Branch – 2:30 p.m.

                     – Ontario Branch – 6 p.m.

Tuesday, July 8 – Main Library – 10:30 a.m.

                      – Lucas Branch – 2:30 p.m.

                      – Lexington Branch – 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday, July 9 – Lexington Branch – 10:30 a.m.

                           – Butler Branch – 2 p.m.

                           – Main Library – 6:30 p.m.

Thursday, July 10 – Main Library – 10:30 a.m.

WEE READ & PLAY:

Ages 5 and younger can join us at the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library Main Library on Saturday, July 12 at 10:30 a.m. for Wee Read and Play.

Join us as we find out if Scaredy Squirrel is afraid of the beach, the dark, new friends, and the unknown. We’ll see if he will ever leave his nut tree and venture out in the story “Scaredy Squirrel Goes Camping” by Melanie Watt.

There will be stories, songs, and a craft . This program is free but sign- up is required. To sign up call 419-521-3130.

CHILDREN’S MOVIES at MAIN LIBRARY:

Join us each month to watch a recently released feature film geared towards younger audiences on our big screen. Admission is free, and popcorn will be provided. Call the audiovisual department at 419- 521-3120 for more showing information.

The first showing will be on Wednesday, July 9 at 11:45 a.m.

PROGRAMS FOR TEENS: TEEN SLP PROGRAMS – JULY 7-11 Ready Aim… Grades 6-12 (Sign-up is required)

Put your “MacGyver” skills to the test at this program. We’ll provide everything you need to make some unique catapults, slingshots and rubber band shooters. This is where school supplies go during the summer.

I’m Melting! Grades 6-12 (Sign-up is required):

Crayons, canvas, and heat combine to create a drippy, abstract work of art. You’ve seen it on Pinterest, now make it at the library. We’ll provide the materials and you supply the creativity and design.

The possibilities are endless and the finished product will be spectacular.

Book Clocks Grades 6-12 (Sign-up is required):

Turn the page on a new life for an old edition. We’ll provide everything you need to turn a discarded book into a clever clock. You’ll want to make time for this program.

Tuesday, July 8 – Crestview Branch – 12 - 7 p.m. (419-895- 0010)

Creative Outlet Grades 6-12 (Sign-up is required):

Turn on some originality in your room by designing a personalized light switch cover. We’ll provide all the supplies you’ll need and some creative ideas. Use your imagination to construct a great decorating accessory.

Undye Your T-Shirt Grades 6-12 (Sign-up is required):

Bring a dark colored t shirt and we’ll provide the stencils, stamps, and other accessories you will need to take away the color and leave behind a unique design. Bleach and colors don’t mix, but for once this laundry agent will be your friend.

PROGRAMS FOR ADULTS: ONTARIO BOOK CHATTER:

The Tuesday afternoon book discussion group will meet at the Ontario Branch of the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library on Tuesday, July 8 at 1 p.m.

This month everybody in the group will be discussing “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Come on out and join in the discussion. No sign-up is required.

BITS OF BOOKS:

The open-ended discussion of books and authors continues at the Lexington Branch of the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library on Wednesday, July 9 at 2:30 p.m. and on the second Wednesday of each month.

Everyone is encouraged to bring their favorite title to share and talk about, and book lists, read-alike lists, and lots of ideas for good reading will be available. No sign-up is required.

GAME NIGHT AT ONTARIO BRANCH:

The Ontario Branch of the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library will be having a game night on Thursday, July 10 and 24 at 6 p.m.

Join us on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month to indulge in playing some of your old favorites or learn a new game. This program is for all ages, children, teens, and adults. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. No sign-up is required.

MADISON BOOK DISCUSSION:

The Saturday morning book discussion group at the Madison Branch of the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library will meet on Saturday, July 12 at 10 a.m.

This month the group will be talking about Minding Frankie by Maeve Binchy. This program is free but sign up is required. To sign up call Madison Branch at 419-589- 7050, or stop by to pick up a copy of the book.

BELLVILLE BRANCH ANNUAL BOOK SALE:

Come rain or come shine, it’s the Annual Book Sale, held in conjunction with the Merchants’ Sidewalk Sale! The sale will be held on Saturday, July 9 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Bellville Branch of the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library.

Stop in and find some great books! Adult hardback books $1; paperback books for 50¢; juvenile books for 25¢; and magazines for 10¢.

S’YVELT ENSEMBLE:

Join us on Sunday, July 13 at 2 p.m. at the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library Main Library to enjoy the music of local band S’yVelt. They will entertain us playing old standards, blues, and New Orleans style jazz. All music programs are generously sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

WORD – BEYOND THE BASICS:

Join us on Tuesday, July 8 at 5:30 PM in the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library Main Library Computer Lab for a word processing workshop using Microsoft Word.

If you have taken our Word – Basics class, this class is for you. We’ll delve in beyond just the basics of using the software! Call the computer lab at 419- 521-3146 to sign-up.

MOVIE NIGHT at MAIN LIBRARY:

Join us each month at the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library Main Library Community Room to watch a recently released feature film, on our big screen! While we can’t publicize which movies we’ll be playing, it’ll be a first run of newer movies that have just come out!

Admission is free, and popcorn will be provided. Call the Audio Visual Department for to find out what’s showing or for more information. The showing for July will be held on Tuesday, July 8 at 5:30 p.m.
