A two-vehicle accident in Norwalk has claimed the life of a Bellevue man.

The Norwalk Post of the State Highway Patrol says Scott A. Shuker, 27, sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash that occurred Monday around 9:01 a.m. on Fitchville River Rd. at the intersection of Prospect Road.

The patrol says Tyler Keathley, 21, of New London, was driving a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix eastbound on Prospect Road when he failed to stop at the stop sign at Fitchville River Road and struck the southbound 1997 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Shuker.

Both vehicles came to a rest at the southeast corner of the intersection, with Shuker's vehicle landing on its top.

Shuker was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was transported to Eastman Funeral Home in New London. Keathley was treated at the scene and released.

The patrol says there was no indication of alcohol or drug involvment, and weather conditions were not a factor.

The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
