Shooting victim's boyfriend arrested on weapons charge

An arrest has been made stemming from Monday's fatal shooting of a woman at 1273 Kings Corners Rd. East near Lexington.

Darryl Jerome Taylor, 29, is in the Richland County Jail on a charge of Having a Weapon Under Disability. His bond is set was at $250,000.

Taylor is identified as the boyfriend of the 41-year-old victim Deborah Hovestadt, who was shot in a bedroom and died at the scene.

Sheriff's deputies say Hovestadt had been arguing with her boyfriend, although Taylor has not been charged in the shooting. He was one of three people in the house, and was arrested after being questioned.

Major. Joe Masi said the circumstances of the shooting have not been determined and the investigation continues.
