The Ashland Center for Non- Violence is celebrating it's first transition in leadership with a reception and book sale to benefit the program.

The reception honored John Stratton, who is retiring as executive director; a position he's held since the center formally organized in 2007. The event also welcomed Craig Hovey, as the new executive director.

The idea of the Ashland Center for Non-Violence grew from Stratton's commitment to the belief that conflicts can and should be managed non-violently and that these means of conflict resolution are most likely to bring effective and lasting results.

Programming for ACN now includes speakers, films and discussions; all open to the public at no charge. For more information about ACN membership and events, call 419-289-5313.
