The 22nd annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive will be done this Saturday by letter carriers for the U-S Postal Service. This is the largest one-day food collection in the country, and helps countless needy families at a time of year when food pantries have low supplies. Leave non-perishable food next to or inside of your mailbox. Food collected in Richland County will be given to the Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, and Volunteers of America. 45,000 pounds was donated locally last year. Letter carriers ask you to put the food in paper or plastic bags with handles if you can, so they're easier to carry as they make their rounds. You also can drop-off food at Toy Time headquarters on North Diamond Street in Mansfield starting at noon on Saturday.
