Children Carnival Promotes Mental Health

In honor of children's mental health awareness day, the Rehab Center in Mansfield hosted a children's carnival on Thursday evening. The growing third annual event featured games, snacks, prizes and face painting, along with the underlying message to remain aware of children's mental health.

Julie Cochran, Adolescent Team Leader at the Rehab Center, says "The more that the community and people having awareness of mental health issues and that they do have an impact on our children."

Cochran says that children having mental health issues is "not a bad thing" and that "there's a lot of different treatment options out there."

She also says the event is "kind of a nice stress reliever" for many children that are taking tests at the end of the school year.
