A small broadcast studio in a local elementary school is doing big things. Shelby Middle School students in Jason Sewick's 5th grade class love using technology in the classroom.

In addition to using a smart-board and tablets, the class also produces the school's newscast, Whippet News. Friday afternoon, they recorded a kindergarten spring concert for Mother's Day.

Mr. Sewick's class, in addition to 6th, 7th and 8th graders worked together to operate cameras, audio and more. The students will edit the concert and sell copies of the event for five dollars. All proceeds benefit Whippet News. They've produced three similar events and hope to produce a live event next.
