Ohio bird sanctuary prepares for kids summer camps

The Ohio Bird Sanctuary is kicking off its summer kid's camps.

The first three day camp, "A Fungus Amongus! All About cool fungi!" runs June 10-12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The camps are themed, with each week teaching different environmental principles and science standards. The camps are open to children from 6 to 12 years old.

2014 Summer Kid's Camps:

June 17-19, "A Planet of Plants" All about plants, flowers and trees

July 22-24, "In Cold Blood" reptiles and amphibians

July 29-31, "A Bird in the Hand" learning about our feathered friends

August 5-7, "Survival" how to get along in the wild.

Each camp will be supervised by at least two staff members who may be assisted by a Junior Naturalist. There is a limit of 20 children per camp.
