Two charter schools in Mansfield are closing for good, due to insufficient enrollment to sustain them. The Constellation schools, Mansfield Community Middle on Larchwood Road, and Mansfield Community Elementary on Trimble Road had their last day of classes Friday. The elementary had operated since 2002, in the former Stadium School, which Mansfield City Schools sold to Constellation. The middle school was in Mansfield's former Ranchwood elementary building and in the former Y-M-C-A on Park Avenue West, and had existed for five years. Mansfield Community Elementary had ten teachers and 121 students, while the middle school had nine teachers and 114 students. The affected teachers will be considered for positions in Constellation's seventeen other schools in Cleveland, Parma, Elyria, and Lorain.
