It's never too late to earn a high school diploma and approximately 218 students did just that on Thursday evening.

Mansfield City Schools Adult and Community Education Program held their recognition ceremony and graduation inside Mansfield Senior High School, with a number of students completing a goal they've had for a number of years.

Mansfield Mayor Tim Theaker says "It's always neat to see older people or people that have dropped out of school and continue on with their education."

"Those people really have shown an interest." Theaker added. "Shown that they can do it."

A number of students expressed a great deal of excitement for finishing the program and earning a diploma. Mansfield City Schools Superintendent Brian Garverick shared in their enthusiasm.

"It's a celebration, it's a graduation." Garverick says. "It's a time in life when everybody looks forward to graduating. Tonight's their night and we're very proud of them."
