The Richland County Foundation has awarded more than $433,000 in scholarships to local college students.

RCF Scholarship Committee Chairman Michael Chambers announced during a recent Board of Trustees meeting that 417 scholarships were awarded to 140 freshmen, 100 sophomores, 78 juniors and 99 seniors attending accredited two-year or four-year colleges or universities. Of those receiving awards, 372 students are enrolled in an Ohio school and 45 students will attend an out-of-state school.

The scholarships are based on a student’s financial need. A scholarship fund can be created with a minimum investment of $20,000. For more information on how to establish a scholarship fund or any other fund at the Richland County Foundation please call President Bradford Groves at 419-525-3020 or visit the website at www.rcfoundation.org.

Applications for the 2015-2016 year will be available in January 2015 with an application deadline of April 1, 2015.

For more information about scholarships call RCF Program Officer Allie Watson. The Richland County Foundation is a non-profit organization that helps individuals pool and invest gifts for the long-term good of the county and its residents.
