Operation Save Our Streams volunteers met once again for their semiannual cleanup. This meeting's target was North Lake Park, just down the road from Mansfield Senior High.

Operation SOS is dedicated to cleaning up rivers and streams throughout the Mansfield area, and its volunteers are passionate about helping the environment. Program coordinator Kim Hildreth explains why Operation SOS is so important to Mansfield.

"People don't realize that our streams feed into the Clear Fork Reservoir," Hildreth said. "Which is actually where the city of Mansfield's drinking water comes from."

While the environmental effort garnered few people due to inclement weather, several veterans went out on cleanup detail in the fog.
