The Hospice House in Ashland opened it's doors to commemorate a memorial walkway and honor those who have passed.

The open house gave guests a chance to experience the new walking path, water fountain, arbor, enhanced playground and labyrinth.

Hospice House hopes this space will be a relaxing, peaceful place for patients, their families and anyone else who would like to visit.

The Labyrinth was named "Martha's Path" to honor the late Martha Jorden, who served as a bereavement counselor at Hospice. She strongly supported the expansion plans for the memorial walkway and envisioned the grounds as a place for counselors and church groups to visit for therapeutic use.

Benches donated in memory of loved ones line new paths in the woods, and volunteers at the "What Goes Around" Thrift Shoppe in Mansfield donated money for the beautiful, 8 foot arbor.

Hospice of North Central Ohio serves patients and their families in five counties, with offices in Ashland, Mansfield and Mt. Vernon.

For more information about the event or donor opportunities, call 419-281-7107.
