Four Mansfield police officers run from Mansfield to Bellville in support of this weekend's Ohio Special Olympics in Columbus.

The officers started at the Kroger store on Lexington Avenue in Mansfield this morning, and made their way down Lexington Avenue to State Route 97.

The statewide Law Enforcement Torch Run raises money to help the athletes. Detective Shannon Davis of the Barberton Police Department says there's no more exciting feeling than running the torch into Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium to start the Special Olympics.

"Flame of Hope" torches are carried through 150 Ohio communities to Columbus, where 2500 athletes with developmental disabilities compete in eleven events.
