A new sidewalk is open for pedestrians along Kaler Avenue, from the main entrance to Oakwood Cemetery to Southern Avenue in Bucyrus. The $17,000 cost to construct the 65-yard long sidewalk was donated by 94-year-old Doctor Don Wenner, who cut the ribbon Thursday afternoon. Wenner says the initial idea to build the sidewalk was forty years ago when his daughter had to walk in the grass on her way to and from elementary school. The new sidewalk connects to the walking trail past the wastewater treatment plant, over the Friendship Bridge Wenner and his friends built years ago, to Aumiller Park.
