A major face lift for Ohio state parks is in the works and hopes to bring tourism dollars to Ohio. Ohio State Parks received an unprecedented 88.5 million for Capital Improvements to strengthen the infrastructure and modernize facilities. For Mohican State Park, this means renovations to campgrounds, pool areas shower facilities and the outdated cabins.

Of the 88 million, Mohican received nearly 5 million for improvements of the grounds. Ohio is one of only seven states in the nation where admission to state parks is free. Last year, 2.3 million people spent at least one night in an Ohio campground, cabin or lodge.
