It was a typical Friday afternoon at Rite Aid's Main Street location in Crestline, when suddenly there was a period of panic.

Rite Aid employee Tim Bishop says people started running out of the store in a frenzy, so he closed up the pharmacy and quickly followed behind. Crestline resident Brianna Blackburn was a part of the chaos, finding herself in the stampede for the front door shortly after entering the store to fill a prescription.

Blackburn says, "an officer came back and told us to evacuate the building and we were kind of unsure what was going on."

According to Rite Aid employee Glenna Bartholomew, a man called the store demanding that five prepaid Visa cards were to be loaded with $500 each and that someone would come pick them up at a specific location. Bartholomew says the demand was not met and that the man threatened to put a bomb in an employees vehicle.

Police responded to the scene just after 5 p.m., blocking off a portion of Main Street and calling in the bomb squad shortly after. Officers would check every single vehicle in the Rite Aid parking lot and surrounding area with robots, but would not discover any threats.

Officer Carey with the Crestline Police Department says that no suspects have been named and the case is still under investigation. Rite Aid will be back open for business on Saturday morning.
