The second event for opening the year at Ohio State-Mansfield is the Convocation.

Dean and Director, Doctor Stephen Gavazzi, says it welcomes more than 500 in-coming freshmen to the campus.

During his remarks, Gavazzi gives the students a top-ten list of the things they should remember during their college careers, primarily that four years may seem like a long time but it passes in the blink of an eye.

Ohio State-Mansfield is going to a semester school year rather than quarters.

The fall semester runs from August 22 through December 4, with graduation December 16.

The spring semester runs from January 17 through April 22, with graduation May 5.
