Ohio State-Mansfield and North-Central State College are working on a Campus Framework Plan. The campus is more than fifty-years-old, and the plan will address the building and grounds needs to carry it through the next half century. OSU campus Dean, Doctor Stephen Gavazzi, says the plan will address the need for renovation of existing buildings and construction of new ones. Ovalwood Hall underwent a major renovation several years ago, and Kee Hall may be next for either a facelift or be torn down and replaced. A new greenhouse is already under construction. Gavazzi says the entrance to the campus will also be addressed in this plan. The current entrances are on Lexington-Springmill Road and State Route 39. The plan will consider creating an entrance closer to Ontario. Gavazzi says the campus framework plan will not call for more student housing, but will address extending Home Road to create development opportunities, possibly including off-campus student housing being built by private developers. The OSU-Mansfield/N-C-S-C plan will be completed this fall, at which time town hall meetings will be held to get public input on potential projects. |
