Helping our U.S. service personnel overseas was the objective by those who participated in the Fouth Annual FREEDOM Walkthon this past weekend at Hillsdale High School's Community Stadium.

Hillsdale Chapter of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Co-President Ashley Smith says walkers accept pledges with the proceeds given to the Ashland Military Support Group.

Smith says they hoped to raise $500 or more from the walkathon.

The Hillsdale chapter of the FCCLA holds the FREEDOM Walkathon to recognize the efforts of the military.

The chapter also takes part in other endeavors like litter clean-ups and helps raise funds for cancer research.
