The City of Shelby has been working with the Richland County court system and the codes and permits department to bring a building in downtown Shelby into compliance. The building has been deemed to be structurally unsafe. "It's been going on for over two years now. So, we are hoping to come to a resolution," says John. "They have determined the building does need to be demolished. And, again, this is for safety purposes." "We are working with the court system to insure that this happens," says John. "It will be kind of a lengthly process, but, we want to make sure everything is done correctly." The city of Shelby is also working on a few other buildings to bring into compliance. John says the property owners are working hard on making that happen. |
