An early Tuesday morning fire completely destroyed a home at 1075 Gledhill Road in Crestline. Jefferson Twp. Fire Chief Rory Furr says his volunteer department received a call at 5:30 a.m. from the Crestline Fire Department which was already en route. The female owner of the home was away in Pennsylvania but was contacted by fire officials and the local American Red Cross was on the scene to aid the firefighters battling the blaze. The State Fire Marshal's Office was contacted by Chief Furr and will investigate the fire to try and determine a cause which is currently unknown. The Whetstone and Springfield township fire departments provided mutual aid by supplying tanker trucks at the scene. |
