At 4-1, the Galion Tigers will square off Friday against the 5-0 Col.Crawford Eagles in a key matchup in the NCC.  The Eagles have the overall number one offense in the conference that averages just over 450 yards a game.  Most of that yardage game in and game out has come off the arm of CC quarterback Nate Klingenberger who is also the top passer in the NCC.  Klingenberger has thrown for 1,258 yards and 12 touchdowns through five weeks.   The Eagles also boast two of the best receivers in the area in Alec Hetzel and Nick Adams who have combined for over 850 yards in receptions.  Crawford has also been able to run the football with Spencer Tackett collecting 575 yards with an average per carry of 7.8 yards on 74 carries with nine touchdowns.

Galion coach Chris Hawkins says the Eagles pass to set up their run.  For their part, Hawkins says the Tiger defense must make to Eagles work for yardage and not let them get big plays by letting their receivers get behind the secondary.  While Galion's defense will be dealing with the NCC's leading passer, Crawford will have to deal with David Nay one of the areas best running backs.  Nay has 670 yards on 97 carries with nine touchdowns.  The Eagles also have to play a guessing game as to wether or not Galion starting quarterback Dareian Watkins will start or play on Friday night after coming off minor knee surgery last Monday.  Hawkins is hoping his number one can go, but if not Austin Prosser will step in as he did last week in a 41-14 win over rival Bucyrus.

Galion won last season's contest between the two teams in a runaway 36-6.  Col.Crawford has not beaten the Tigers in football since 2005, 26-11.  That win came during the Tigers 3 for 57 skid in football from 2002 through 2007.
