National Prescription Drug Take Back Day proved to be a big success on Saturday at the Richland County Regional Solid Waste Management facility on National Parkway in Mansfield. Richland County Regional Solid Waste Management District Executive Director Ken Bender says 119 vehicles pulled into the facility as area residents dropped off their unused and expired medications. Bender says proper disposal of unwanted prescription drugs is also key because you don't want them getting into our groundwater. The confidential program is sponsored twice a year and includes a similar program conducted in the spring. |
