The Mansfield-Ontario-Richland County Health Department has been awarded a $42,000 traffic safety grant.

This is federal money that comes through the Ohio Department of Public Safety's Office of Criminal Justice Services.

Manager of Health Education and Promotion Selby Dorgan says the grant will be used for public awareness efforts that focus on traffic safety, such as seat belt usage, drunk driving, speeding, and motorcycle safety.

Some of the money pays for the annual "Buckle Your Seat Belt" poster with representatives from all of the law enforcement agencies in Richland County.
