Over 250 people participated in a benefit and 5K run for a Clear Fork sixth grader with a malignant brain tumor.

The Grant Reed Gray Matters 5K and Benefit  took place at American Legion Park at 1 Bell St. in Bellville.

Grant is undergoing chemotherapy treatments and proceeds from the benefit will help offset his medical expenses.

There were other activities held during the benefit. The Little Buckeye Children's Museum made slime and demonstrated fun experiments with the Columbus Zoo showing exotic animals.

There was also food, carnival games and a bounce house.

The benefit concluded with a performance by the Red Ball Jets.
