The Mansfield, Ontario, Richland County Health Department will sponsor its annual fall Hike for Health at Malabar Farm State Park near Lucas from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13.

Check-in for the hike will be at Pugh Cabin and maps of the walking trails are available and food and beverages for hikers also will be available.

Visitors can take their own self-guided hike at any time during the event and the hikes are on easy trails for they're family-friendly and generally last a half-hour.

Adults must accompany children and sturdy hiking boots are recommended as the trail conditions may be somewhat slippery.

Hiking is promoted as a healthy form of exercise in Ohio state parks.

Since the hike will be held rain or shine, participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather.

For more information, contact the health department at 419-774-4544.
