Lady Lex Returns To District Final

The Lady Lex tennis team will get a shot at returning to state competition for the third straight year in the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association team tournament when they take on number eight Clyde, next Tuesday at Clyde in the OTCA Division II district final.  Lady Lex earned the trip back with a 3-0 win over Ottawa Hills Wednesday afternoon in their best of five match at Lexington.  In singles, Alex Griebling defeated Nicole Mohan 6-1, 6-0.  Emilee Wong stopped Kristen Berry 6-1, 6-1.  In doubles, Nicole Dragos and Jillian Earnest were straight set winners, also winning in second doubles were Courtney and Maya Ahmed.  In number one singles Elise Betscher defeated Shivani Bhatt 6-1 and 3-0. 

Should Lexington defeat the Fliers on Tuesday, it will be their third straight trip to the OTCA state finals.  The team state tournaments will be held in Reynoldsburg next Sunday October 21st.  Lady Lex is defending Division II state champion.
