Eagles Go For Seventh Straight

The 6-0 Ashland University Eagles will try to make it seven straight wins on Saturday when they welcome in the 2-4 Walsh Cavaliers for Homecoming at 1pm.  Heading into the game Ashland is ranked 8th in the country in Division II, while last week, Walsh snapped a four game skid by beating rival Malone 34-7.  Ashland improved to 6-0 last week dropping Ohio Dominican 44-21.  Eagles quarterback Taylor Housewright was 28 of 43 for 285 yards and two touchdowns while speading his throws around to eight different receivers.  Ashland also had two back run for over 100 yards in Jordan McCune and Anthony Taylor.

Along with Ashland, three other GLIAC teams are nationally ranked Grand Valley State (5-1) 14th, Saginaw Valley State (5-1) 17th and Wayne State (4-1) 18th.  Defending national champ Pittsburg State (5-0) is ranked number one.
