Richland County Transit buses will run on the four Saturdays in December to help people do their Christmas shopping.

The transit board approved the special service Monday, for Dec. 1, 8, 15, and 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Fiscal Officer Kathy Adams says the service will include an extra bus, a curculator running from one shopping center to another in Ontario.  The Saturday service will be fare-free.

The transit board is also promoting its service to the Mansfield Industrial Park, which started two weeks ago.

Buses leave the Stanton Transit Center in downtown Mansfield weekdays at 6:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.

There are no posted bus stop signs along this route, but RCT buses will stop for anyone who flags them down.

And, as it has been doing for many years, Richland County Transit will offer free rides to passengers boarding a bus with a toy for Toytime, the week of Dec. 3 through 8.
