A Mansfield Correctional Institution inmate has been indicted by the Richland County Grand Jury over an August first incident in the prison.

40-year-old Donald Malone the third is charged with Kidnapping, Abduction, Attempted Rape, and Assault.

He also faces specifications for being a Repeat Violent Offender and Sexually Violent Predator.

He's accused of trying to rape a female X-Ray technician in the prison infirmary, then assaulting a male guard who walked in on the attack.

If convicted, Malone could be sentenced to seventy more years behind bars, on top of the twenty-year to life term he's serving for a rape conviction in Marion County.
