With the musical landscape flooded with pop stars, most young people haven't grown to appreciate perhaps the most sophisticated and historical form of music...opera.

But two vocalists from Mansfield are seeking to change that, by demonstrating Friday to third and fourth grade students at St. Peter's Elementary School, prior to a concert this Sunday. 

Tenor Joel Vega, and his wife and singing partner, Soprano Heidi Kirschenheiter Vega, played recordings of the world's most famous opera singers, then sang to the students.

The St. Peter's Music Series concert is Sunday at three pm in the main church.
