Shelby's annual Halloween Parade stepped off over the weekend downtown on Main Street.

Shelby Police Chief Charles Roub says the parade wasn't quite as big as it usually is but the popular event drew an assortment of costumed characters, floats and the Shelby High School Marching Band.

Roub says the Halloween Parade is sponsored by the government class at Shelby High School each year.
