The 10th Annual Shop with a Cop program in Ashland will benefit from a benefit silent auction held Sunday at O'Bryan's Pub. Ashland Police Det. Kim Mager coordinates the Shop with a Cop program, which covers all of Ashland County and pairs local law enforcement officers with disadvantaged children to purchase gifts for Christmas. Money generated from donated gifts, prize baskets and certificates goes raising funds for the program. Mager says she's overwhelmed by the community support, ranging from individuals collecting pennies to one woman who donated her entire collection of Boyd's Bears. The actual Shop with a Cop event will take place at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16 at Walmart in Ashland. |
