Six local food pantries will see their shelves full, thanks to the Seventh Annual Make a Difference Food Drive which wrapped up over the weekend at Graham Auto Mall and Mansfield's three Kroger stores used as drop-off locations.

Food drive coordinator Rush "Doc" Stumbo says it was a rousing success.

Stumbo says after accumulating more than 17,000 food and personal hygiene items a year ago, this time around the people of Richland County dropped off 20,609 items to help those in need.

Volunteers worked on Sunday to load up the items dropped off.

Ten trucks and vans were utilized to cart the food items to the local pantries with each getting close to 4,000 items apiece.
