The Domestic Violence Shelter in Mansfield has won a free new car. Director Kathy Ezawa was presented with the keys to a 2013 Toyota Sienna Monday afternoon at Graham Auto Mall. The giveaway is part of Toyota's nationwide 100 Cars for Good program in which the automaker gives away cars to 100 non-profit organizations based on voting on Facebook. Toyota District Sales Manager Greg Stevenson says it's gratifying to give a vehicle to an organization that helps women and children escape violent homes, often on an emergency basis. Ezawa says the shelter has an old, worn-out vehicle that's expensive to maintain, so winning this car is a lucky break they needed. She says they take women to attorney and doctor appointments, and children to school, so this new vehicle will be put to good use. The Toyota comes with two-years of free maintenance, a six-year 100-thousand mile warranty, and roadside assistance. |
