Republican U.S. Senator John McCain of Arizona continues to be one of the sharpest critics of President Barack Obama's administration about the U.S. consulate attack in Bengazi, Libya on Sept. 11 in which four Americans were killed, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens. In a campaign stop Tuesday afternoon in Ontario with Ohio Treasurer and U.S. Senate candidate Josh Mandel, Sen. McCain believes the Obama administration of the handling of the attack has been a debacle. He says, "This disgraceful, despicable way the Bengazi tragedy and loss of four brave Americans on the part of the President is either a massive cover-up or a degree of incompetence that disqualifies him to be President of the United States and veterans are upset at the way the President has conducted himself." Sen. McCain's stop at the Ontario Victory Center was part of his campaigning for Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, as well as to thank volunteers for their support and to collect supplies to deliver storm-relief items to those affected on the East Coast by Hurricane Sandy. And, with Veterans Day less than two weeks away, Sen. McCain also reflected about his time in the military as a naval aviator in the Vietnam War. Sen. McCain says he'll be back in Ohio again before the election as he knows how important the Buckeye State will be on Nov. 6. Along with his stop in Ontario, Senator McCain also made storm relief and volunteer appreciation visits in Columbus and Bowling Green. |
